Safeguarding

If someone is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services and your school’s designated safeguarding lead. Do not rely on an in-app report for an emergency.

School Bridge is designed for school-managed participation. Teachers control access, oversee activity and can review and respond to concerns. Pupils should never share home addresses, personal contact details, passwords or private meeting arrangements.

Reporting a concern

Use “Report concern” beside the relevant conversation or project and tell a trusted member of school staff. Reports should be visible only to authorised safeguarding staff and must create a dated audit record.

How schools should respond

Each participating school must name a designated safeguarding lead, publish an out-of-hours route, triage reports promptly, preserve relevant records, coordinate with partner schools and follow its existing child-protection policy.

Platform safeguards

The product includes role-based access, school verification, teacher oversight, reporting tools, audit records and message flagging. Automated detection can miss harmful content and must be supported by trained human review.

Before pupils join

Schools must complete a safeguarding and privacy assessment, verify the partner school, agree supervision and escalation arrangements, test reporting, set retention periods and provide age-appropriate guidance.

Production launch remains conditional on adding named safeguarding contacts, response times, out-of-hours arrangements and the approved escalation procedure.
